Bandag Retreading

Bandag Retreading

Main Tire Exchange has been a Bandag retreader since 1972. The quality and dependability of a Bandag product is the key to your fleet's milage performance. The technicians in the retread facility at Main Tire Exchange are dedicated to producing a top-quality product.

Initial Inspection

At initial inspection, your casings are thoroughly inspected to ensure they meet our high retreading standards.

Casing Analyzer/Shearography Stage

This is a pre-buff, non-destructive inspection that provides a bead-to-bead scan with unmatched accuracy.

Buffing Stage

Old and worn tread is removed from the casing and trued with the utmost precision. Any repairs that are discovered at initial inspection are repaired using Bandag repair materials designed for today's new generation of tires. All repair procedures are an integral part of the Bandag retreading process. Nail hole, crown and sidewall injuries can be routinely repaired.

Extruder Stage

Cushion gum is applied to the buffed casing. This cushion is the bonding agent for the tread rubber to your casing. This bond will become one of the strongest parts if the tire - and makes our Bandag retread dependable.

Builder Stage

Tread rubber - in a design to meet your application - is applied to the inflate casing. Our Process bonds the tread rubber to your casing using a low curing temperature. No excessive heat and no rigid metal molds mean your casings avoid the stress associated with other retreading processes.

Final Inspection

Every tire is thoroughly inspected and hand-painted before it leaves our facility. The last place we want to discover a problem is after the tire is back in service - we're sure you'll agree!
